Rumor has it Keanu Reeves set to play Spike in “Cowboy Bebop.”

Well if this rumor at First Showing is true then my enthusiasm for a live-action Cowboy Bebop movie just flew out the window.

  The dude’s too old, I’d say. Had his name been suggested just after The Matrix, I could see it. Maybe.

  I love Cowboy Bebop but there are so many ways a movie version could suck. I don’t know if I’m all that keen on live action versions of stuff that is already pretty damn perfect in another format.

  IMDB lists DiCaprio as possibly starring in Akira. Could be good, could be disastrous. What is it with Hollywood et al mucking around with remakes of perfectly good entertainment? Hopes for new audience or just hopes for new cash cows?
