Ralph Reed’s bid for lieutenant governor in Georgia fails.

Always nice to get some good news from the South for a change:

Former Christian Coalition leader Ralph Reed conceded defeat about 9:50 p.m. in Georgia’s Republican primary for lieutenant governor.

“Tonight my candidacy for lieutenant governor comes to an end,” he said.

Which isn’t to say he didn’t come uncomfortably close with some 44.8 percent of the vote nor will this be the last we hear from him, but at least it’s a setback for the time being.
