… and, damn, is it ever goofy. In addition to Jet Li it also stars Jacky Cheung and it’s described as a “blend of martial arts and slapstick” about a former cop turned stunt double for a washed-up movie star who is among those taken hostage by a gang of jewel thieves at a black-tie event.
I used to think Jackie Chan made really goofy movies, but he’s got nothing on this one. Apparently this was originally released in 1995 as Shu dan long wei. Meltdown was the title given to the bad English dubbed version they produced. The martial arts in it aren’t bad, but damn, is it goofy.
