ExpressionEngine 1.2 has been released!

Those of you running ExpressionEngine will be happy to hear that version 1.2 has been released. We’ve been beta testing it here and I think a lot of folks are going to be very pleased with this latest release as it includes the new ExpressionEngine Photo Gallery.

There’s a good list of bug fixes and new features including an improved comment module, moblogger support for the gallery, Blogger API support, whitelist in addition to the blacklist, several new conditional variables, and stronger comment spam protections.

Les, do you know of any EE blogs out there that have done something with the photo gallery? I’d like to see how it looks.

I have it set up here with the default templates. The link is in the sidebar, just be sure to use IE when you view it at the moment. I’m having some funky issue where FireFox isn’t recognizing the style sheet for some of my sites and it’s affecting the gallery.

  • Just a quick question – are the N10 links to page through past comments supposed to work? I get a 404.

Supposed to? Yes, but there’s a small bug we’re trying to squash. I’m helping Rick puzzle it out otherwise I’d have turned off the pagination on the sidebar comments by now. If you’re on the All Comments page or on an individual entry page (like the one you’re reading this comment on) then they should work just fine, but on the main index it’s having trouble figuring out the URL at the moment. Try it while on this page and they should work.

  • Yup, it works on this page. Good enough for a workaround.

Thank you very much for this feature – it is invaluable.

I just uploaded the latest bug fix release from pMachine and it appears the comment pagination links on the index page are being generated properly now.

You can now cycle through the recent comments, ten at a time, in the sidebar or make use of the All Comments page to see everything that’s been said recently.
