‘Superman’ Christopher Reeve Dies at 52.

Christopher Reeve, best known for his role as Superman, passed away yesterday at the age of 52.

I’ve never been a big fan of the Superman character, but I have to admit that Reeve did a good job of bringing him to life and making him believable—at least for the first two movies before the series took a turn for the ridiculous. Reeve’s later advocacy for stem cell research after the accident that left him paralyzed is what really made him a hero, though.

  • Truely a man that did not recognize the word “Quit”

I too wasn’t all that impressed with Reeve’s character as Superman and he really didn’t achieve Superman status in my mind until after his fateful accident.  His attitude and perseverance was phenomenal, considering his plight, and he will serve as an inspiration to many for years to come.

A real hero inspires us to be the best we can be. In that sense, Reeve was a hero to us all, showing that we really don’t know how much we can accomplish if we dedicate our entire being to a good cause (that probably also works for bad causes).

  • I was not at all impressed by him. He could not act his way out of a bag. He was a weak person.
