Thanks for the links. Now if you want to really make my Christmas point me to a download for PC or a browser based version of Tron. The version designed for Commodore 64 ( or was it the 32) machines was really fun and I’ve been looking for years to find a way to play it again. Also I apologize for that time I said sometimes you talk about insignificant things (well I didn’t exactly say that but that’s how it could be construed). Sometimes it’s the simple things that matter when you’re burned out on worrying about the world.

You use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move around and the z and x keys to fire lasers and drop bombs respectively.

Brock, you mean something like SWRON?

Thanks Les, that’s a good copy of the Light Cycle part of the game. The game I played included various levels designed after Disney’s TRON. It included the Light Cycles, the Disk Throw, fighting the spiders, and finally the spinning thing (It’s been a while since I’ve seen the movie so I’ve forgotten what he was called.) Every version I’ve found simply has the light Cycle game or the Disk Throw. I would love to find the original game but am beginning to think I won’t. Let me know if you run across anything else like it and thanks again for the SWRON link

Ah, you’re talking about one of the two TRON arcade games. I don’t think that was ever successfully ported to the Commodore 64. You could get the ROM and use something like MAME to run it on your PC though.

I swear I played it, maybe on a Commodore Vic 20 that I bought at a yard sale. I know I had the TRON cassette (maybe that wasn’t it’s full name) and I think I had Gorf and Alien Invaders. But I know I played it and it seemed to reproduce the movie’s situations pretty well, for a Vic 20 anyway. I’m not crazy…or anything.
