It’s probably a good thing they waited so long before even mentioning it was in production because after what I’ve just seen I don’t know if I could have handled waiting 5 years for it. Hell, I’m not sure how I can handle waiting until September when it’ll be released.
A mistake. It was a mistake to watch the full 25 minute E3 demo that’s available at various places around the Net. I was fine with the wait until I saw this game in action. The 720×480 Quicktime movie is a good 519 megabytes that took almost an hour to download on my broadband connection. I almost canceled the download. I should have canceled the download. Now I’ll suffer feverish dreams about the gaming goodness that awaits me in 5 months time. Wanna see what it was that has got my panties in a bunch? If so you’ll find copies of the video available at WorthPlaying, Gamer.no (broken up into 9 files for you non-broadband types), Fileshack has a low-res version for non-subscribers and a high-res Div-X version for subscribers, Gameplex has a Div-X version in 7 parts, if you’re an IGN-Insider subscriber they have a version at their site and if you’re a subscriber to File Planet they have a version as well.
Fair Warning: You might need some tissues to clean up with afterward.
UPDATE: It appears that even Robin Williams is jonesin’ for Half-Life 2.

I guess by the time this new game comes out, I’ll just buy a new compter at the same time (sigh).

Hey- ok this is what I don’t get. You say “Half Life 2 Must Be Seen To Appreciated,” yet the link you give for fileshack’s low-res version is just audio. I have a 56k and downloading a 150+ MB takes me 10 hours. I’d appreciate it if you could give you readers a clue on what it is exactly, because the fileshack page sure as hell didnt say anything about it being all audio.
