For example, I recently commented on your new avatar for example. Seen this way, you COULD have taken that the wrong way (I said something about your new avatar – which I really LIKE – being a true-blue american avatar because he gives you the finger with the right hand. Because, if I remember, the post was also talking about normality and left-handed people and stuff).

I hope that wasn’t one of those moments of animosity that you meant, for again, it was not intended as such.

Sorry about that old chestnut ingolfson but I’ve felt animosity from you for some time now and that’s our only meeting that I can track it back to. Your first comment above felt like a kick and suggested to me that I hadn’t been here long enough. Long enough for what, I don’t know.

I’m sad to hear that. What made you think of it that way (except that we have sparred in the past)? It was not intended that way in the least. Take it as it stands: you were a regular when I came here, and I commented on finding the first post of a reglar. Could have been DOF or someone else just the same.

Why? Apart from our first argument (plus the argument about the first argument some time later), we never had much direct contact here. The only time we seem to talk is when that old first argument crops up again – which is why I did NOT mention it here!

Truth be told, I wish I had been here from the very first day. That’s how much respect and admiration I have for SEB. It’s been over 2 years here for me now (just counting my commenting phase) and I hope I’ll always have this place to come to.

Les, thank you. I’ve been scandalous at times and I’ve certainly been more interesting to read, more dedicated to fleshing out a comment with information and validated opinion. I look back at some of my comments and I’m proud that I took the time and effort to speak. Lately it seems like I’ve lost my nerve and am afraid to put myself on the line again. I’m not sure why. I hope that changes soon as I love being a noticeable part of this place.

You give us all the tools we need to feel welcomed and able to discuss issues so it isn’t that. The design aspects and content of this blog are superb; I’ve always said that. I think it might be that I’m feeling guilty about not being smarter, more gifted at sparking enlightening discussions.

I’ve seen some especially gifted speakers come and go here. I miss them. I want to be seen as worthy so that I won’t feel like disappearing too. What you said allowed me to feel worth again. Thanks again for that.

I don’t say this often enough, but if SEB is a success as a blog it’s easily as much to do with the regulars who hang out here as any of the random thoughts I put up as commentary. You guys and gals are the cream in my coffee, Brock especially so.

Your suggestions were a bit more direct than simply telling me to befriend a gay person, Brock. I still stand behind my opinion – but I hope that the misunderstanding behind the actual argument had been cleared up by now, and that the smoking wrecks had been cleared from the infohighway?

I don’t think it’s actually my first comment but close to it probably.

SEB used to be a read only blog for me and when I finally collected enough courage to post a comment I was usually pathetically agreeable and wishy-washy. I think this was my first attempt to show I had a spine and as you can tell, I was still vacillating between being ballsy and full of fear of being banned.

After I wasn’t banned I went on to post the most disturbing comment Les has yet received and I’ve continued to make asinine remarks and even a couple of meaningful comments.

You may remember me best as the foil to Mild Bill or David or Chris. I remember me best as the guy who talked too much at least once.
